When people are fed a certain narrative for years it can be very hard to accept that actually there may be other chapters to the story. We hold on to our stories tight as if our very identity is threatened if we question or are open to other ways of looking at the situation. Self serving politics has emphasised this and overridden basic humanity. I'm no expert on the Middle East nor the United States. I am more experienced in, though never an expert, on being a mother and a caring human being, on creating community and a supportive environment for those who are marginalised by society. I am an expert on writing long comments on subjects that pull at my heart. That's just where I am coming from, as hardening and hating simply adds fuel to the fire.

As if Hamas suddenly changed to the worse in the last 2 years. It has been the same genocidal cult in 2021 as it is in 2023. Dr. Mate flatly refused to see it back then, but it was impossible not to know if only one wanted to know.
This appalling lack of moral judgement disqualifies Dr. Mate from any claim to "wisdom".

And we need the support of the silent majority, the ones that are afraid to speak so that they aren't labeled to one side or another.
