My interview with Gabor Maté

Understanding Israel / Palestine

Dear Friends, 

I can’t remember if the kids were Israeli or Palestinian, but I remember seeing kids crying on TV in the Middle East, with destruction in the background. 

I know there is suffering all across the world, but something about this situation has grabbed my attention. 

I asked myself, WHAT CAN I DO?

The answer I got was to get a film crew and visit author and trauma expert Dr Gabor Maté at his home for an extensive interview on the topic.

We talk about surviving the holocaust, losing his grandparents in Auschwitz, becoming a Zionist, getting disillusioned, his visits to Gaza, how we can heal personal and generational trauma, and what is needed now.

This is not an easy topic, and I understand why many people choose silence, but I feel it’s important we do our best to discuss it, if not for this generation, then for future generations.

The topic is too important to not try.

No doubt some people will feel that I or Gabor were too lenient or too harsh on one group or the other, but we did our best.

I plan to include more voices on this topic in the future.
