Undimmed
Freedom From Unwanted Habits
Dear Friends,
Most of us have habits, ways of being, that do not nurture or support our wakefulness.
It could be alcohol, social media, sex, news, you name it. There are countless options today!
You could say that our relationship to these experiences “dim” us. We lose presence, lose connection with ourselves and the world around us.
When my partner Cecily and I got together, she was getting up at 5am most mornings before the kids woke up and work started to write about her lessons in this area of dimming and undimming.
i’m excited to share that the book that emerged over these years of deep exploration is now available for pre-order: Undimmed: The Eight Awarenesses for Freedom from Unwanted Habits.
While Cecily started it to share her story with alcohol, she soon realized it had, “little to do with alcohol.” No matter the dimmer, there was something more. Her habits were an effort to “dim out the difficulty and pain beneath the surface.”
It was a journey of healing and personal discovery.
It was less about taking on a new identity, and more in practices or awarenesses that we can come back to.
If you are interested in this topic of “dimmers,” and living undimmed, please check out the book.
