Dear Friends,
In many ways, both liberals and conservatives agree on the primary problem we face in society. There is little debate on it. The issue they both agree with: The Problem is OTHER PEOPLE.
If only more of “us” were in power and less of “them,” life for everyone would be much better. On this, we all agree!
Now, on one level, yes, if there is someone spouting hate and cruelty, and another person focused on honesty and community, the world will likely get better with the latter. Hate increases hate, and love increases love.
There are better leaders than others.
However, no one group is all knowing, and the other all ignorant. Each has value.
And even when we call ourselves “liberal” or “conservative,” there are usually people much more liberal and conservative than we are. I generally consider myself liberal, but I know people who do not believe in private property and who want to abolish all borders, who view me as quite conservative. It all depends on the lens.
But we cannot make progress as long as we think “they” (anyone who sees the world other than us) is the problem. We need another way.
Can we find it?
I am not sure, but in September please join me along with IFS (Internal Family Systems) Founder Dick Schwartz; CNN anchor and activist, Van Jones; singer/songwriter Alanis Morissette, and others.
Spiritual traditions have said for years that “we are all one,” all interconnected … and maybe now is a good time to embody that.
The series is BY DONATION. Please join us.
You do know Van Jones is an activist for communism, right? He is also a close associate of Kamala Harris who is also a communist. Her father was a Marxist professor and she was raised in Canada because they had a shortage of Marxist professors there. I certainly won’t be there. https://www.govinfo.gov/content/pkg/CRECB-2009-pt16/html/CRECB-2009-pt16-Pg21103.htm
I'll be there brother
