"Whenever there is crisis, there is opportunity.” — Eckhart Tolle
Dear Friends,
Those of us who are parents know the balance: We do not want our kids to suffer AND we also know that how the way they learn resilience and compassion is through some suffering.
This is true for societies as well. We do not want needless pain, but we often learn in times of upheaval, times of disruption … and we are in one now.
Yet our motivations matter.
Is the motivation to break down existing paradigms to EMPOWER THE ELITE ruling billionaire and corporate class … or is it to BENEFIT EVERYONE?
Some corporations and billionaires care, and some are caught in an endless drive for more power at the expense of everything, including potentially Democracy.
Change of course is needed.
Is their significant government waste? Likely. Do we need to revamp the government for the age of AI? Yes. Are there chemicals in our food supply making children and adults sick? Very likely. Does Democracy still matter? I hope so.
I wonder:
Can we guide the disruption in ways that benefit everyday people? Can we harness it to create a more just system?
The Opportunity
Republicans are not all bad, and Democrats are not all good. And there is an important role for business. It seems more than a liberal movement or a conservative movement, we need something that reflects humanity.
Maya Angelou observed, "You may not control all the events that happen to you, but you can decide not to be reduced by them."
There is much we cannot control, but we can “decide not be reduced by them.” We can do our best to act from wisdom, not hatred; from a concern for the whole, not division.
Wisdom 2.0 2025: May 5th & 6th
I was planning to take a year off this year, but with everything going on, I decided to make this topic the focus of Wisdom 2.0 2025. Join us in person or online.
I am very grateful this conference is continuing! I do believe we charge is to hold light in my spiritual growth while engaging to ensure that the disruption moves us forward. However the potential for destruction and harm is also in play. This is a balance I am grappling with but I do not feel for me that being a passive observer is my calling. This conference has helped my grown my conscious self so that I can stand in the light as an advocate for our society.
Yep! I resonate with your statement. Change happens, for the good and bad, as perceived by each individual and group. Let us work within Time, peacefully, to strive toward Love's highest goal. 🙏🏽☮️♥️🗽🌎 Theory can be easier than practice at times.
