Dear Friends,
When I was in sixth grade, I was the runner-up for Student of the Year.
I wasn’t a standout academically—I was a solid B student. But I said “please” and “thank you,” smiled often, and stayed pretty quiet most of the day.
I was considered a “good kid,” and I got accolades for being quiet. But the truth is, while I was a pretty chill kid by nature, I was also afraid to speak up and share my voice.
Over time, I’ve come to see how vital it is to know how and when to speak up.
The Beginnings: THE ESSENTIAL
About two years ago, I came down with Covid and had to isolate for a week. During that time, I asked myself:
What is it that I want to say?
If my entire life were a research project, what would my report be?
As I sat with these questions, I began to write. Now, two years later, I’m excited to share that the book that started that week is now available for pre-order.
It’s called THE ESSENTIAL: Discovering What Really Matters in an Age of Distraction.
I was deeply inspired by Rick Rubin’s The Creative Act and the idea of “writing from the inside out.” Success, I’ve come to realize, isn’t about how our work is received—it’s about honoring what wants to come through us. That’s it!
This book began simply as me writing for myself, listening to what wanted to be expressed.
In many ways, this book sprouted and grew from this community, so it also came from us! Thank you for your support and presence along the way
I hope you enjoy it.
Blessings,
Congratulations!
Hi Soren, I "met" you in the Inner MBA several years back. The short description of your book captures the essence of what I teach in my coaching practice. I'm not surprised as I so often resonate deeply with your emails. Thanks in advance!
