Dear Friends,
There is a lot going on in the world (and no, I do not know why Sam Altman was fired)
When I asked Sam at our last Wisdom 2.0 how he manages challenges, he said “meditation has really been the center of this for me.” So I can only guess he is meditating and making the best calls he can.
One thing is clear: We are in a new chapter with advanced AI, which is why we recently held the Wisdom & AI Summit.
We will be diving more deeply into this at our next Wisdom 2.0 2024 in April with leaders from AI, Tech, and Wisdom. Hopefully Sam and others will join us again.
Regardless, there are real concerns and opportunities in AI, and from everyone I talk to, this is just getting started.
THE QUESTIONS
The Dangers:
Does AI need to be stopped or heavily regulated to prevent it from destroying trust in society?
Will market incentives lead it to take the same path of social media, largely focused on clicks and monetizing our attention?
The Potential:
Can AI be developed with wisdom and compassion?
Can AI create interactive learning experiences that benefits our well-being?
