Dear Child of the Universe
Dear Friends,
I was rewatching the interview I did with Van Jones at our Wisdom & AI Summit. We will be holding another one this October (stay tuned).
One statement he said towards the end struck me:
"There is something in us that cannot be touched. It was never born. It can never die.
We are the children of the universe and we deserve to be here. We are worthy."
THE CHALLENGES …
It is easy to look at the challenges facing our world today and think, “I cannot do anything. I am just one person.”
But as a child of the universe, we ARE one person. If we are co-creating the world moment-to-moment with the other 8 billion humans (and other animals), we still get one 8 billionth of an impact. It’s something!
Maybe this simply means when there is the choice of zoning out on social media, or connecting to our friend or partner, we choose the later. That impacts at least one life!
It is easy to complain, but as a child of the universe, as worthy as anyone else here, maybe we can inquire:
How do WE live each day as if it mattered, as if we had an impact?
WHAT IF …
As AI heats up, and climate change certainly heats up, and the US presidential election also heats up …
What if these and other conditions are inviting us to find our voice … cajoling us out of our boxes to be the full expression of who we are … creating challenges that demand that we come together in ways we never thought possible?
OK, sure, maybe this is not what is happening …
But on the other hand, WHAT IF THIS IS THE INVITATION?
In this “all hands on deck moment” as Jon Kabat-Zinn likes to call it, if life was inviting us to expand, what might this look like for each one of us?
What is the invitation for you?
Again, maybe there is not one, but if there is, let’s not miss our moment.
Blessings,
SOREN
